The Malachite Goddess

In Ancient Egyptian myth, the fish was a symbol of fertility, combined here with the solar disk horned crown, representative of divine motherhood and celestial power.

This imagined figure also holds two lotus flower staffs, symbolising rebirth and the cyclical rising and setting of the sun.

Malachite was often used by the Egyptians in sculpture, to fashion scarabs and ground down to use as makeup. The green shade known as 'wadj' symbolised the Malachite Field, and Malachite was seen as a symbol of rebirth.
